Batteries

Batteries involve an electro chemical reaction, where the reaction creates chemical energy and turns it into electrical energy used to power various devices, from handheld electronics to watches and automobiles.

How it works

In that chemical reaction, electrons that are made move to the negative side of the battery and make their way to the positive side of the battery. This reaction happens when a complete closed circuit is made, usually with wires. The electrons travel though the wires and give power to the device that batteries are in. Inside the battery is a series of metals and usually a liquid substance through which the electrons flow. Different types of batteries contain different combinations of metals.
