Get the Details
Anyone who commonly uses a computer knows how often problems occur. Some of these problems can be fixed quite easily. Others are a bit more complicated. Before you try to tackle any problem, you need to begin by writing down the details of the problem. So, for instance, when did the problem occur and what steps did you take beforehand that led up to it? If you repeat those steps, does it happen again? What programs were you using? Did you recently install or uninstall any programs?
You should also write down general information such as the model of your computer, the size of the memory and hard drive, and the type of processor. This information will be needed when you are looking for information online or when you are calling a technician about repair.
