Directory Boards

Directory Boards

Have you ever shown up to a business meeting or a medical appointment and found that the building was bigger than you thought and then wondered how in the world you would find the office. At some point you probably ran into the directory board and breathed a sigh of relief. For it was that directory board that was going to get you to the meeting by telling you who was in each office and where it was located.

Office buildings and medical buildings, along with schools and other organizations use directory boards to point clients and other visitors in the right direction. While they are often used as a directory, they can also be useful in providing other information, including operating hours, specials of the day or for displaying artwork. Schools definitely make use of directory boards by showing off the projects of each classroom or giving information on each sport that is available.

If you have ever been in a hospital you might have noticed that hospitals also use directory boards. Not only to serve as a directory but as a way to introduce you to their staff. These can be very large wall sized cases made out of wood. They have individual plaques hanging with pictures of the doctors and nurses who work there and information about what area of medicine they are in.

Which one to choose?

There are so many different styles and sizes of directory boards to choose from. Pedestal letter boards are free standing displays that are easy to transport. They can be moved to attract the most attention depending on where the high traffic areas are. A 60”x15” stand costs about $150.
