Have you ever watched someone play video games and wonder how they are able to easily navigate so many buttons? Or how they can sit with the controller in their hands for hours and not get tired? That is most likely the work of an industrial designer. Just about every item in you home or office that you come into contact with has been through the mind of an industrial designer.

What Industrial Designers Do

An industrial designer is someone that takes the products we use in everyday life and makes them fit into our lives in the best way possible. They take a product or service from a manufacturer and further develop and improve the concept in an attempt to benefit the company and consumer. When a company hires an industrial designer they want him/her to make their product fit best with the consumer yet be profitable to them in regards to production and marketing costs.
