IT Training

IT Training

With today's rapid changes, it is important for businesses to keep their personnel up to date on what is in technology. How can employees get quality IT training?

Classroom IT Training

Personnel can receive IT training in a classroom setting. In this scenario, a few key personnel would attend classes with hands-on training at nearby locations. The classes would include a qualified instructor and students from different companies. After completing the course, the trained personnel would then train others in their business, if necessary, either on an individual basis or in a company “classroom.”

On-Site IT Training

Many companies offer on-site IT training. An instructor will come to a business with all of the equipment and course content that will be needed. In this scenario, a company can have as many employees trained at one time as needed in a convenient atmosphere. If there is a question, an IT expert is there to answer it quickly without having to go through a company “trainer.” The instructor will concentrate only on the company's employees without distractions from other class members. In addition, the instructor can customize the course to the exact needs of the business. Employees can ask questions relating to their business without worrying about breaching confidentiality. This might work well with a larger company or with a business that has concerns about confidentiality.

Virtual Classroom IT Training

Online learning offers many of the advantages of classroom learning without actually having to be at a given location. Employees still work with a live instructor and can interact with other students. The course content is the same as in an in-person classroom setting. Classes are given at a set time so that employees can plan when they have to “be in class.” This option might work well for companies who are trying to train employees from several locations at once or would like to limit their travel expenses.

Self-Paced IT Learning

There are companies that offer IT training where students can take the training at their own pace. These companies provide their materials via CD-ROMs, on the Internet, and with printed materials. In addition, there are IT training manuals that can be purchased where a company's employees can “self-teach” themselves. These self-paced methods can save businesses' money. However, their employees will not benefit from interaction with instructors and other students.
