Laminating Supplies

Laminators are used in most offices and schools as a way to protect projects or important information. Paper objects are sandwiched between two sheets of plastic, which are usually melted or pressed on and form a permanent protective seal around the piece. Objects that will be on display are often laminated in order to keep the piece neat and clean. Laminating requires little more than a laminator and laminate, although some laminating can be done by hand.

Laminate

There are two main types of laminate: pouches and roll film. Roll film laminate is used in roll laminating machines. The machines hold two separate rolls of laminate, which can vary in width and diameter, so it is important to be sure and get the right one for your machine. Laminate is available in a variety of finishes including gloss luster, satin, matte and super matte as well as varying thickness, from 1.5 to 10mil (1mil=.001 inches).
