Technical Writers

Technical writers go through a four year college education in most cases – either in English or specifically a Technical Writing major. Many technical writers already have a background in technology, but it's something anyone with a penchant for breaking complex terminology down to understandable terms can do.

What type of work do technical writers do?

User manuals, help files, program documentation – if it has to do with technology, you will see a project calling for a technical writer. Actually being interested in cutting edge technology is nearly a must, and writing for the layman audience is a great skill to have.
